บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาลักษณะและการปรับเปลี่ยนของความสัมพันธ์ในระบบบรรณาการระหว่างจีนกับล้านนา ผู้เขียนได้วิเคราะห์ลักษณะและการปรับเปลี่ยนของความสัมพันธ์ในระบบบรรณาการระหว่างจีนและล้านนาในปลายคริสต์ศตวรรษที่ 13 –16 โดยแบ่งเป็น 3 ช่วง คือ(1) ก่อนการสร้างความสัมพันธ์แบบระบบบรรณาการ (2) ความสัมพันธ์ในระบบบรรณาการระหว่างจีนราชวงศ์หยวนและล้านนา และ(3) ความสัมพันธ์ในระบบบรรณาการระหว่างจีนราชวงศ์หมิงและล้านนา พบว่าความสัมพันธ์ในระบบบรรณาการระหว่างจีนและล้านนามีลักษณะที่เป็นพลวัต มีความปรับเปลี่ยนเสมอ และปรับเปลี่ยนตามสถานการณ์ของทั้งสองอาณาจักรในแต่ละสมัย
本文旨在研究 13 世纪末至 16 世纪中国与兰纳间朝贡关系的特征和变化，作者从（ 1）建立朝贡关系前、（ 2）元朝与兰纳的朝贡关系和（ 3）明朝与兰纳的朝贡关系等三个阶段分析得出，中国与兰纳的朝贡关系是动态的，是根据每个时期两国情况的变化而一直变化的。
This paper aims to study the characteristics and changes of tributary relationship between China and Lanna from the end of the 13th century to the 16th century. The author analyzes the three stages (1) before the establishment of tributary relationship, (2) the tributary relationship between Yuan Dynasty and Lanna and (3) the tributary relationship between Ming Dynasty and Lanna, and concludes that the tributary relationship between China and Lanna is dynamic and always changes according to the changes of the two countries in each period.
