Abstract
The purposes of this thesis were: 1) to study newly ordained monks in Theravada Buddhist Philosophy, 2) to study the key teachings for newly ordained monks in Theravada Buddhist Philosophy and, 3) to gnalyze the key teachings for them in Theravada Buddhist Philosophy. The thesis was based on the qualitative research methodology. It placed the focus on the documentary research, in which the data were collected from such different sources as the Tripitaka, academicians’ researches, including informants specializing in Buddhism. Once completely collected, data were brought to analyze and research’s findings summed up. Eventually, they were presented through the analytical description. The results of the study were as follows: 1) Newly ordained monks in Theravada Buddhist Philosophy specified those whose monkhood is less than five rainy years since they had to be under their preceptors’ guidance for leading their monastic life. They were treated as immaturely dependents. Consequently, such every monk had to take courses on Buddhism’s key teachings and disciplines for them to protect their own monastic life. 2) The teachings for newly ordained monks in Theravada Buddhist Philosophy were those that were mandatory for them to practice them
it was regarded as entering their new phases of life in Buddhism to begin practicing Threefold. To train those newly ordained monks in Buddhism with Threefold trainings was its all teachings in practice. Threefold trainings were composed of higher morality, higher mentality, and higher wisdom. In other words, they were labelled morality, concentration and wisdom which were the main duty of them to perform with the very great endeavor so as to access the noblest and best mental states in their lives. 3) An analyses of key teachings for newly ordained monks in Theravada Buddhist Philosophy were that newly ordained monks in the Theravada Buddhist Philosophy had to possess strong immunity and three complete attributes namely - 1) they have morality, concentration and wisdom as the basic state for ruling themselves, 2) to practice concentration for controlling sensual objects arising from external factors and internal ones and, 3) to exert wisdom to analyze and examine as truly.
