Abstract
The objectives of this thesis were
1) to study history and background of ᾹdittapariyāyaSutta, 2) to study Buddhist philosophy embedded in ᾹdittapariyāyaSutta, and 3) to analyze the Buddhist philosophy embedded in ᾹdittapariyāyaSutta. The study method was qualitative. The results of the study were found that: 1) ᾹdittapariyāyaSutta means the discourse that Lord Buddha used in teaching the three matted-hair ascetics, Uruvelakassapa, Nadikassapa and Gayākassapa, together with their 1,000 followers at Uruvelasenanigama district of Magadh State. The Buddha said to monks that Sabbangbhikkhaveadittam. 2) Buddhist philosophy embedded in ᾹdittapariyāyaSutta was that

sense-organs, sense-objects, consciousness and contact, are aflame. They are aflame because of lust, hatred, delusion, and other suffering flame, i.e. birth, old age, sorrow, lamentation, pain, grief and despair. 3) The analytical results of Buddhist philosophy in ᾹdittapariyāyaSutta were that
1) Lust occurred from pleasurable sense-objects was little harmful but declined slowly. The way to relieveand eradicatethe lust was to practice meditation on Mindfulness with regard to the body and loathsomeness. 2) Hatred occurred because of un-satisfaction, irritation, anger, malice and ill-will gave an enormous harm, but it declined quickly. The way to relieve and eradicate the hatred was to cultivate the four noble sentiments. 3) Delusion occurred from credulity, unreasoning, and wrong view had an enormous harm and declined slowly. How to relieve and eradicate the delusion was to cultivate mindfulness on breathing
