《王赓武自选集——移民及其敌人》一书，以翔实的资料、谨慎的分析，探讨了东南亚华人的移民原因、生存状态、社会贡献，以及思想资源等方面的内容。本文对其书进行解读，并对当代东南亚华人的社会地位、学习情况，以及心理归属等诸多方面进行了分析。
Selection of Wang Gungwu-Migration and its enemy mainly discusses Chinese Migrations to Southeast Asia, focusing on causes of migrations, living conditions, contributions to society and mental resources. According to this work, the essay “From Overseas Chinese to Foreign Citizens of Chinese Origin: inspired by Selection of Wang Gungwu” will analyze the Overseas Chinese in Modern Southeast Asia in various aspects, including social status, educational condition and etc.. It also examines how modern overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia identify themselves.
สรรนิพนธ์ของศาสตราจารย์หวางเกิงอู่ ว่าด้วยเรื่อง การอพยพย้ายถิ่นฐานและศัตรูของการย้ายถิ่นฐาน เป็นการศึกษาสาเหตุของปรากฏการณ์การอพยพสู่เอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ของชาวจีน สภาพความเป็นอยู่ คุณูปการของจีนโพ้นทะเล และความคิดความเชื่อต่าง ๆ เป็นต้น บทความนี้จะวิเคราะห์ชาวจีนโพ้นทะเลในเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ในแง่มุมต่าง ๆ เช่น สถานภาพทางสังคม การศึกษา และ ความรู้สึกร่วมกับดินแดนมาตุภูมิ เป็นต้น
