| dc.description.abstract | The objectives of this thesis were: 1) to study Khong Sib-Si in Isan Culture, 2) to study Isan Culture according to Ethics, and 3) to analyze Khong Sib-Si in Isan Culture according to Ethics. This research was taken out by searching information from tripitaka books, researches, articles, journals, and other different academic papers. The results of the research were as found : Khong Sib-Si refers to ways approach to people of all levels, from king, governors, monks, and to ordinary people to practice 14 terms. Khong Sib-Si as part of culture reflects the lives, philosophies, and concepts of Isan people which their ancestors embraced and integrate traditional beliefs, tiling that should be followed, tenets of Buddhism, make a living, faith, and prohibition together in Khong Sib-Si to instruct, warn, guide in living a life, behave morally or even giving knowledge to be able to solve problems in everyday life as well. As for Ethics, it studies about the duties of human beings no matter that human beings are bom as either male or female, child of adult, all have their own duties which they should do and be responsible. In addition, it also studies highest ideals of human life by showing what should do and should not do throughout highest goodness. Ethics in Theravada Buddhist philosophy is divided into 3 levels | |
| dc.description.abstract | basic ethics, medium ethics, and highest ethics. From studying the regulations of conduct in Khong Sib-Si according to ethics found that Khong Sib-si intervene ethical teachings to reach individual and society in the basic level of Buddhism which means practicing body, speech, and mind to be calm or in another word practicing the percepts which purifies the mind and behaviors of the Isan people to have moral as a base in living a life. Morals symbolizes initial core of ethics. Khong Sib-si in Isan culture is code of conduct in the first stage of ethics in Buddhism which includes the concept of karma, concept of 5 percepts and dhamma, concept of object interaction, concept of sexual ethics, concept of integrity, concept of preserving Hit or tradition, culture, concept of belief or faith, concept of having truthfulness, concept of humbleness, concept of helping others or having kindness, and concept of fairness. Khong Sib-Si is considered as strategy in developing the minds of Isan people and society to be filled with moral and ethics to be an example of society of qualities which created a culture of coexistence in way of morality. | |
