Abstract
The objectives of this thesis were as follows: 1] To study the eight worldly conditions according Theravada Buddhist philosophy, 2] To study how to prevent the influence of the eight worldly conditions, and 3] To analyze influence of the eight worldly conditions according to Theravada Buddhist philosophy. This study was a documentary research collecting the data from the Tipitaka, textbooks and documents in Buddhism, and then all the data were summarized and presented in a descriptive method. It was found out that : 1] According to Theravada Buddhist philosophy, the eight worldly conditions mean the facts existing in the world, the worldly principles, or the truths that human and non-human beings are convinced to attach to gain, loss, fame, obscurity, praise, blame, happiness and pain. 2] How to prevent oneself from the influence of the eight worldly conditions was to understand and realize it with mindfulness and wisdom. Those conditions should not be attached because they are under impermanence, suffering and non-self. Realizing the true worldly conditions, one could be free from the influence of it. 3] Human beings are the center of everything and can be trained and developed all the time. To follow the Eightfold Path or the Threefold Training in summary, one can confront with the influence of the Eight Worldly Conditions in his daily life and live his life happily and peacefully even though the present social factors are more and more complicated.
