งานวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพชิ้นนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษา จิต, ปฏิสนธิจิต, และวิเคราะห์ปฏิสนธิจิตในพุทธปรัชญาเถรวาท ผลการศึกษาพบว่า “จิต” คือสภาวธรรมอย่างหนึ่งที่เป็นนามธรรมเป็นสิ่งที่มีอยู่แต่ไม่สามารถที่จะรับรู้ได้ด้วยผัสสะ มีองค์ประกอบสาคัญคือ เจตสิก ที่ทาหน้าที่ปรุงแต่งการรู้ของจิตให้เป็นอารมณ์ต่างๆ เช่นเป็นกุศลกรรม อกุศลกรรม และเป็นสาเหตุให้จิตนั้นมี 89 หรือ 121 ดวง แม้จิตจะมีอยู่มากมายแต่เมื่อว่าโดยหน้าที่ มีอยู่ 14 อย่าง หนึ่งในหน้าที่ทั้ง 14 อย่าง คือ จิตทาหน้าที่ปฏิสนธิ เรียกว่าปฏิสนธิจิต ซึ่งเป็นจิตดวงแรกในชีวิต “ปฏิสนธิจิต” คือจิตทาหน้าที่สืบต่อภพชาติ หรือเกิดใหม่ ซึ่งปฏิสนธิจิตจะมี 19 ดวง แต่จิตที่ทาปฏิสนธิจะมีเพียงดวงเดียว เพราะจิตไม่สามารถทางานพร้อมกันในเวลาเดียวกันได้ ปฏิสนธิจิตมีอยู่ในรูปของกระแสจิต มีการเกิดดับอยู่ทุกขณะ ซึ่งการเกิดดับเป็นสภาวะทางธรรมชาติของปฏิสนธิจิต แต่ที่จิตต้องทาปฏิสนธิในภพชาติใหม่ เกิดจากจิตที่สั่งสมกรรมเอาไว้ในอดีตส่งผลเป็นวิบาก วิบากกรรมจึงเป็นเหตุปัจจัยที่ทาให้จิตต้องทาหน้าที่ปฏิสนธิ
The objectives of this qualitative research were to study mind, relinking state of consciousness, and analysis of relinking state of consciousness in Theravãda Buddhist Philosophy. Data collection was made from Tri Pitaka canon and other documents involved for a study and analysis The study result was found that “Mind” is a natural condition being abstract and an existing Idea which it can not be able to realize by touching, its important property is mental concomitants, its duty is to garnish mind’s recognition to be various emotions such as wholesome and unwholesome, and it is cause to have the mind be of 89 or 121 types. Even if there are a lot of minds, but by its duty there are 14 minds, one of those 14 minds is that its duty is relinking state of consciousness or Patisandhicitta being the first mind in life. “Relinking state of consciousness” is the mind with its duty to be successive to the birth or rebirth in which there are 19 minds, but for relinking state of consciousness, there is only one mind, because it can not work together at the same time. The relinking state of mind is available in the form of mental telepathy with emergence and extinction every moment, the emergence and extinction are natural condition of the relinking state of consciousness, but the mind to be reborn is derived from the mind accumulated in the past, that is the result or vipaka, therefore, vipaka kamma is the cause to make the mind be of the duty for relinking state of consciousness.
