| dc.description.abstract | บทความเรื่องนี้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของวิทยานิพนธ์เรื่อง การศึกษาวัฒนธรรมญี่ปุ่นจากนวนิยายเรื่อง Memoirs of a Geisha ของ Arthur Golden และฉบับแปลภาษาไทยโดย วิหยาสะกํา สิ่งที่นําเสนอในบทความนี้คือ เรื่องกลวิธีและปัญหาที่พบในการแปลคําศัพท์ ภาษาอังกฤษที่สื่อความหมายถึงวัฒนธรรมญี่ปุ่น ผลการศึกษาด้านกลวิธีการแปลมี 3 วิธี ด้วยกัน คือ การแปลตรงตัว การปรับเป็นประโยคหรือวลี และการใช้คําที่มีความหมายเฉพาะ ซึ่งสามารถสร้างความเข้าใจให้แก่ผู้อ่านฉบับแปลได้อย่างถูกต้อง ปัญหาที่พบจากการศึกษา ในครั้งนี้คือ การใช้คําศัพท์ภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อสื่อความหมายถึงวัฒนธรรมญี่ปุ่น อาจทําให้ ความหมายบางส่วนขาดหายไป รวมถึงความหมายโดยนัยที่แฝงอยู่ในคําศัพท์อาจก่อให้เกิด ความเข้าใจที่คลาดเคลื่อน ส่งผลให้การสื่อความหมายถึงวัฒนธรรมดังกล่าวในฉบับแปลไม่ ถูกต้อง การทําความเข้าใจบริบทและวัฒนธรรมเป็นสิ่งสําคัญในการแก้ปัญหาการแปล คําศัพท์ทางวัฒนธรรม รวมถึงประสบการณ์และความรู้พื้นฐานของผู้แปลก็เป็นส่วนช่วยให้ การถ่ายทอดความหมายเป็นไปอย่างถูกต้อง ข้อสังเกตที่พบจากการศึกษาในครั้งนี้ คือ ความใกล้ชิดระหว่างวัฒนธรรมส่งผลกระทบต่อการแปลในด้านการทําความเข้าใจต้นฉบับและวัฒนธรรมด้วย | |
| dc.description.abstract | This paper is part of a masterVs thesis research entitled A study of Japanese culture in "Memoirs of a Geisha" by Arthur Golden and its Thai translation by Wiyasakam. The objective is to present techniques and problems found in translating English words represented in Japanese culture. The results show that three techniques were used in translating cultural terms: literal translation, descriptive phrase modification, and specification. These techniques were able to convey the cultural meaning correctly in the target text. The major problem found in this study was that the Japanese cultural meaning conveyed by English words may be diminished. Moreover, the connotative meaning embedded in the words may cause some misunderstanding, which resulted in incorrect translation. Profound understanding in context and culture is essential in solving cultural translation problems. The experience and knowledge of the translator are also important to convey the correct meaning in the target text. One remarkable point identified in this study is that familiarity with both cultures is an important factor in understanding the context and culture of the source text. | en |
