| dc.description.abstract | วิทยานิพนธ์นี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาแนวคิดเรื่องจักรวาลวิทยา ที่ปรากฏในคัมภีร์วิษณุปุราณะและไตรภูมิพระร่วงซึ่งมีลักษณะทั้งที่แตกต่างและคล้ายคลึงกัน ผลการศึกษาพบว่า คัมภีร์วิษณุปุราณะและไตรภูมิพระร่วงเป็นวรรณกรรมต่างถิ่นกัน มีผู้ประพันธ์ระยะเวลาในการประพันธ์และเนื้อหาหลักคำสอนศาสนาที่แตกต่างกัน แต่เป็นวรรณกรรมสอนศาสนา ที่มีเนื้อหาเรื่องจักรวาลซึ่งสืบรากเหง้าทางความคิดมาจากประเทศอินเดีย จึงจัดอยู่ในปรัชญาอินเดียเช่นเดียวกัน ทำให้มีแนวคิดเรื่องจักรวาลวิทยา ที่มีลักษณะสัมพันธ์สอดคล้องกัน จักรวาลในคัมภีร์วิษณุปุราณะและไตรภูมิพระร่วงมีจำนวนมากมาย จักรวาลในคัมภีร์วิษณุปุราณะ มีลักษณะกลมเหมือนไข่ ดาวเหนือเป็นศูนย์กลางจักรวาล แต่จักรวาลในไตรภูมิพระร่วงมีลักษณะทรงกระบอก โลกเป็นศูนย์กลางของจักรวาล พื้นที่ภายในจักรวาลในคัมภีร์วิษณุปุราณะและไตรภูมิพระร่วงมีลักษณะเป็นวงกลมเรียงซ้อนกันเป็นชั้น ประกอบด้วยพื้นที่ใต้แผ่นดิน แผ่นดินและพื้นที่เหนือแผ่นดิน มีภูมิสูงสุดอันเป็นพื้นที่ที่มนุษย์หลุดพ้นจากความทุกข์เรียกว่า “โมกษะ” หรือ “นิพพาน” การจัดเรียงพื้นที่ในวรรณกรรมทั้งสอง มีลักษณะที่แตกต่างกัน แต่มีเขาเมรุหรือเขาพระสุเมรุเป็นแกนกลางของแผ่นดิน ล้อมรอบด้วยทวีปและมหาสมุทร มีแดน “ภารตะ” หรือ “ชมพูทวีป” เป็นศูนย์กลางในการสร้างกรรมที่คล้ายกัน คัมภีร์วิษณุปุราณะและไตรภูมิพระร่วง มีแนวคิดว่า จักรวาลดำเนินไปตามวัฏจักร คือ เกิดขึ้น ดำรงอยู่และดับสูญไป จักรวาลและสรรพสิ่งในคัมภีร์วิษณุปุราณะเกิดขึ้นจากการสร้างของพระวิษณุ มนุษย์มีหน้าที่ตามที่ถูกกำหนดไว้ จักรวาลในไตรภูมิพระร่วงเกิดขึ้นตามวิวัฒนาการ มนุษย์และสรรพสิ่งเกิดขึ้นตามธรรมชาติด้วยผลกรรม และจะดำเนินไปตามผลแห่งการกระทำ จักรวาลในคัมภีร์วิษณุปุราณะดำรงอยู่ตามการควบคุมดูแลของพระวิษณุ ส่วนจักรวาลในไตรภูมิพระร่วงดำรงอยู่ด้วยผลจากการกระทำ และท่าทีของมนุษย์ที่ปฏิบัติต่อธรรมชาติ จักรวาลในคัมภีร์วิษณุปุราณะจะดับสูญไปตามระยะเวลาที่กำหนดด้วยอำนาจของเทพเจ้า แต่ผลจากการทำผิดศีลธรรมของมนุษย์ จะทำให้จักรวาลในไตรภูมิพระร่วงดับสูญลงด้วยภัยธรรมชาติต่าง ๆ แนวคิดเรื่องจักรวาลในวรรณกรรมทั้ง 2 เรื่อง แสดงให้เห็นวัฏจักรของชีวิตมนุษย์และสรรพสิ่งที่มีเกิดขึ้น ตั้งอยู่และดับไป ดำเนินหมุนเวียนเป็นวงกลมสืบเนื่องกันไป วัฎสังสารของมนุษย์จะสิ้นสุดลงเมื่อปฏิบัติจนบรรลุโมกษะหรือนิพพาน คัมภีร์วิษณุปุราณะแสดงแนวความคิดว่า จักรวาลและสรรพสิ่งเป็นไปตามการกำหนดของเทพเจ้า แต่ไตรภูมิพระร่วงแสดงให้เห็นว่า จักรวาลและสรรพสิ่งดำเนินไปตามวัฏจักรของธรรมชาติ อันเกิดจากการกระทำของมนุษย์ | |
| dc.description.abstract | This thesis aims to explore comparatively both similar and contrastive ideas of cosmology as stated in Visnu Purana and Tebhumikatha. According to previous researches of Visnu Purana and Tebhumikatha, they are different in particulars of origins, authors, time periods, and themes. However, both are religious literatures based on cosmological thoughts of Indian philosophy. It stated in both texts that there are an infinite number of universes. In Visnu Purana, each universe is said to be shaped like an egg with the North Star as the center, whereas the other’s are in cylindrical shape with Earth at the center. Within a universe of both, there are regions in circle shape, hierarchically stacked into four levels: the lower, the middle, the top, and the topmost called Loguttara or heavenly planets. Albeit the different geographical layouts, Mount Meru or Sumeru is the center of their regions surrounded by mountains, oceans, and continents. Bharata or Jambudvipa is the realm of Samsara origins. Visnu Purana and Tebhumikatha share the theory of world going through many such cycles of being created, sustained and then destroyed. Visnu Purana indicates that the universes and their animate and inanimate things are created, and destined by Visnu; Tebhumikatha that all things including human beings are under evolution of life and natural aspect of karma. The former believes in Visnu who is the supreme controller of all, and is both the instrumental and material cause of the universe dissolution. The latter describes that universes are subject to the law of karma and human behavior towards Nature. Immoral actions result in natural disasters, and finally lead to the periods of dissolution. These two religious texts depicts the belief of samsara, therefore, the universes take the endless cycle of existence, birth-life-death. In the other words, everything is in the hand of God in Visnu Purana while in Tebhumikatha, all actions by human beings have consequences in the natural cycles of universes. | en |
