| dc.description.abstract | บทความนี้ศึกษาวิวัฒนาการเมืองสมุทรปราการนับตั้งแต่เริ่มตั้งเมืองในสมัยอยุธยาจนถึงสมัยพระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว ซึ่งเมืองสมุทรปราการเริ่มเปลี่ยนจากเมืองป้อมปราการมาเป็นเมืองกึ่งสมัยใหม่ โดยใช้วิธีการทางประวัติศาสตร์ประกอบกับแนวคิดเกี่ยวกับกำเนิดและพัฒนาการของเมืองในสังคมไทย ผลการศึกษาชี้ว่าเมืองสมุทรปราการถูกตั้งขึ้นเพื่อทำหน้าที่เป็นเมืองป้อมปราการปกป้องราชธานีของสยาม เมื่อเข้าสู่ช่วงรัชสมัยพระบาทสมเด็จพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัวและรัชสมัยพระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว เมืองสมุทรปราการได้เปลี่ยนเป็น “เมืองกึ่งสมัยใหม่” โดยพระมหากษัตริย์สยามและบริษัทเอกชนของตะวันตก | |
| dc.description.abstract | This article studies the evolution of Samut Prakan City from the creation during Ayutthaya period to King Chulalongkorn’s reign, when the city started to change from a burg to a semi-modern town. The study applied historical method along with the notion of the origin and development of Thai cities. The result indicated that Samut Prakan City was founded as a fortification to protect the capital city of Siam. In the reigns of King Monkut and King Chulalongkorn, Samut Prakan was changed to a “semi-modern town” by the Siamese Kings and the Western private companies. | en |
