| dc.description.abstract | ผลงานของนักวิชาการไทยเกี่ยวกับประวัติศาสตร์ฟิลิปปินส์นับว่ามีอยู่ในปริมาณน้อย เมื่อคำนึงถึงว่าภายในขอบเขตภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ฟิลิปปินส์เป็นประเทศขนาดใหญ่ทั้งในเชิงพื้นที่และประชากร, มีประวัติศาสตร์อันยาวนาน, รวมทั้งเป็นประเทศสมาชิกผู้ร่วมก่อตั้งสมาคมประชาชาติแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ หรือ ASEAN ที่กำลังทวีบทบาทมากขึ้นในประชาคมโลกปัจจุบัน บทความนี้จึงมุ่งแสวงหาคำอธิบายถึงลักษณะและเงื่อนไขที่เป็นบริบทของการสร้างผลงานของนักวิชาการไทย โดยเริ่มจากการสำรวจภาพรวมของประวัติศาสตร์ฟิลิปปินส์ภายในประวัติศาสตร์เอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้และสายสัมพันธ์กับประวัติศาสตร์โลก การพิจารณาพื้นฐานพัฒนาการของความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างไทยกับฟิลิปปินส์ที่มีส่วนสำคัญในการกำหนดทิศทางและความสนใจในภาพรวมทางประวัติศาสตร์ของฟิลิปปินส์ รวมทั้งประเด็นศึกษาทางวิชาการของไทยที่เป็นหัวข้อเฉพาะเจาะจง โดยพบว่าส่วนใหญ่จะเน้นสาระด้านการเมืองการปกครอง เศรษฐกิจ และความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศเป็นหลัก อาทิ การต่อสู้เพื่อเอกราช, การต่อสู้เพื่อล้มล้างเผด็จการและขับเคลื่อนประชาธิปไตย หรือบทบาทการต่อสู้ของมุสลิมภาคใต้ ผลงานวิชาการเหล่านี้ยังมีเงื่อนไขและข้อจำกัดตรงที่ส่วนใหญ่ยังไม่ได้ใช้ระเบียบวิธีทางประวัติศาสตร์และประวัติศาสตร์นิพนธ์อย่างเข้มข้นมากนัก ในท้ายที่สุดผู้เขียนเสนอแนวทางการศึกษาประวัติศาสตร์ฟิลิปปินส์ภายในบริบทที่เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของประวัติศาสตร์โลกซึ่งรวมประเทศไทยไว้ในนั้นด้วย | |
| dc.description.abstract | The Thai academic work on the history of the Philippines has been relatively small in quantity despite that the Philippines is a large country, determined both by area and by population, within the region of Southeast Asia. The Philippines not only has a long history but is also one of the founding members of the ASEAN of which roles have become more active in the international communities nowadays. This article, thus, is aimed to find an explanation of the characteristics and conditions of the contexts which bring about the Thai academic work on the Philippines history. It starts with a brief survey of the history of the Philippines as a part of the history of Southeast Asia, and in relations to the world history. It, then, explores the fundamental de-velopment of relationships between the Philippines and Thailand which has significantly formed the direction and interest of the Thai academia in the historical view of the Philippines in general. On the study of specific issues, most pieces of Thai academic work have mainly focused on the politics, the administration, the economy, and the foreign rela-tions, e.g., the struggle for independence, the movement to overcome dictatorship and mobilize the democratic government, or the Muslim insurgencies in the south. However, most of these work have some limitations in that they insufficiently use the historical approaches or the historiographical analysis in their work.
