| dc.description.abstract | การที่นายแพทย์มหาเธร์ โมฮัมหมัดก้าวลงจากตำ แหน่งนายกรัฐมนตรีของมาเลเซียในปี ค.ศ.2003 ก่อให้เกิดการเปลี่ยนแปลงต่อการเมืองมาเลเซีย โดยเฉพาะการถ่ายโอนอำ นาจทางการเมืองสู่ผู้นำ รุ่นใหม่และการเปิดพื้นที่ทางการเมืองสำ หรับประชาชนมากขึ้น การเปลี่ยนแปลงเช่นนี้ทำ ให้ขบวนการประชาสังคมในมาเลเซียเติบโตอย่างรวดเร็ว โดยเฉพาะ 3 ขบวนการที่สำ คัญ คือ การเคลื่อนไหวเพื่อต่อต้านกฎหมายความมั่นคงภายในซึ่งเป็นกฎหมายที่รัฐบาลมาเลเซียมักนำ มาใช้เพื่อควบคุมผู้ที่มีความคิดเห็นแตกต่างจากรัฐบาล การเคลื่อนไหวของขบวนการต่อสู้เพื่อสิทธิของชาวฮินดู (Hindu Rights Action Force: HINDRAF) โดยกลุ่มชาวอินเดียที่เรียกร้องสิทธิในฐานะพลเมืองให้ทัดเทียมกับกลุ่มเชื้อชาติอื่นๆใน มาเลเซีย และการเคลื่อนไหวของแนวร่วมเพื่อการเลือกตั้งที่บริสุทธิ์และยุติธรรม (Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections:Bersih) ซึ่งระยะแรกเรียกร้องให้รัฐบาลและคณะกรรมการเลือกตั้งของมาเลเซียจัดการเลือกตั้งที่บริสุทธิ์และยุติธรรม และต่อมาได้ยกระดับการเรียกร้องให้นายกรัฐมนตรีนาจิบ ราซัคลาออกจากตำ แหน่ง การเคลื่อนไหวทางการเมืองของภาคประชาสังคมข้างต้นส่งผลต่อสำ นึกทางการเมืองของประชาชนมาเลเซียและก่อให้เกิดความเปลี่ยนแปลงที่สำ คัญต่อการเมืองมาเลเซีย | |
| dc.description.abstract | When Dr Mahathir Mohamad announced his retirement as Prime Minister of Malaysia in 2003, several political changes took place, especially a transfer of political power to a young leader and more open political space for citizen engagement. The changes escalated the growth of civil society. Three important civil movements were a movement against the Internal Security Act, which was often used to repress those in opposition to the government, the Hindu Rights Action Force (HINDRAF), which aimed to preserve and protect Hindu’s rights in Malaysia, and the Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (Bersih), which sought to reform the electoral system to ensure clean and fair elections and later demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Najib Razak. These civil society movements had an impact on political consciousness of Malaysian citizens and contributed to significant political changes in Malaysia. | en |
