| dc.description.abstract | บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาชุมชนชาวจีนและชาวอินเดียในธนบุรีระหว่าง พ.ศ. 2398-2453 ซึ่งเป็นกลุ่มชาวต่างชาติที่มีบทบาทสำคัญทางด้านเศรษฐกิจ สนธิสัญญาเบาว์ริงกับอังกฤษใน พ.ศ. 2398 ทำให้สยามต้องดำเนินนโยบายส่งเสริมการผลิตเพื่อการค้า ก่อให้เกิดผลต่อเศรษฐกิจของธนบุรีด้วย ทั้งยังอนุญาตให้ชาวต่างชาติเข้ามาพำนักในกรุงเทพฯ และอาณาบริเวณรอบ ๆ ที่สามารถเดินทางโดยทางเรือได้ใน 24 ชั่วโมง จึงเป็นการเปิดโอกาสให้ชาวจีนและชาวอินเดียเดินทางเข้ามาตั้งถิ่นฐานในธนบุรีมากขึ้น จากการเข้ามาตั้งถิ่นฐานของชาวจีนและชาวอินเดียทำให้เกิดการรวมกลุ่มคนตามเชื้อชาติเดียวกัน ซึ่งก่อให้เกิดวิถีชีวิตที่เป็นเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะกลุ่มขึ้น การศึกษาจบลงใน พ.ศ. 2453 และต่อมาเมื่อมีการเปิดใช้สะพานพุทธยอดฟ้าและถนนสายใหม่ 11 สาย ใน พ.ศ. 2475 ทาให้เกิดการขยายตัวของชุมชนใหม่ขึ้น ซึ่งมีผลกระทบต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงวิถีชีวิตของชุมชนชาวจีนและชาวอินเดียในธนบุรี | |
| dc.description.abstract | This article aims to study the Chinese and Indian communities in Thonburi from 1855 to 1910 which played an important role in the economy. The Treaty of Bowring between Siam and Britain in 1855 forced Siam to adopt a policy on trading, affecting the Thonburi economy. Moreover, it also permitted foreigners to settle down in Bangkok and the surrounding areas within 24 hours of travelling by boat. The treaty also gave an opportunity for the Chinese and Indians to set up home in Thonburi, resulting in the emergence of Chinese and Indian communities. Each community, therefore, had its own identity. In 1910, when the Rama | Bridge was finished and 11 new roads in Thonburi were opened for use, creating the settlements of many new communites in various areas, which effected the Chines and Indians' way of life in Thonburi. | en |
